Robert Smith says The Cure will be back on stage in 2027, with new songs in the set
No dates or venues yet, but Robert Smith has told fans to expect more Cure concerts next year, and a set built around music nobody has heard live.

The Cure will play live again in 2027, and Robert Smith says the shows will lean on new material. That is the whole of what has been said so far: no cities, no dates, no ticket links.
What Smith said
In a short pre-recorded message acknowledging the band's nomination for an artist of the year award in the UK, Smith said he is looking forward to more Cure concerts in 2027. He added that he cannot yet say where or when, and that the sets will be full of new songs. The band has not yet put a tour announcement on its own channels, so treat any dates you see circulating as unconfirmed.
The new music
The last Cure album was Songs of a Lost World, released on 1 November 2024 on Polydor, the band's first full-length in 16 years. Since then Smith has said repeatedly that more was recorded in the same stretch of sessions. He has described one follow-up record as finished, and a third as upbeat and poppy, a clear change of mood from the long, dark songs of the 2024 album. No release date has been confirmed for either, and earlier timelines he floated have already slipped, so we are not putting a month on it.
That matters for the live plans. A band that has spent two years playing a catalogue of 1980s and 1990s favourites alongside one album's worth of new songs would arrive in 2027 with a much larger pool of unheard material. Fans should read "bursting with new songs" as a hint about the shape of the set, not a promise about a record being out first.
Who The Cure are, if you are new
The Cure formed in Crawley, England, in the late 1970s and became one of the defining British bands of post-punk and gothic rock, from "Boys Don't Cry" and "Close to Me" to "Just Like Heaven" and "Friday I'm in Love". Smith is the only constant member. Their artist page has more of the catalogue.
What to watch for
The usual order for a band of this size is an announcement of a first run of dates, then an on-sale, then extra nights. We will cover the announcement the day it happens.
