A Japanese showcase that has built a name abroad is finally coming to Europe. matsuri '26: Japanese Music Experience LONDON takes place on Monday, 14 December 2026 at Outernet Live, the first-floor music venue inside the Outernet complex, a short walk from Tottenham Court Road station, with a tentative 18:00 to 22:00 running time.
Who is on the bill
Three acts, listed alphabetically by the organisers, and no two sound alike.
Hitsujibungaku are a Tokyo duo whose dreamy, guitar-led songs have reached well beyond Japan, including a first European tour in 2025. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is the Harajuku pop figure who has spent over a decade turning candy-coloured J-pop into a global calling card, and who has said she is excited to be back in London after a year. Otoboke Beaver are a Kyoto punk quartet known for sprinting, sub-two-minute songs and a live show that does not slow down.
Kyary's own statement on the announcement says she is looking forward to "sharing the stage with these uniquely talented Japanese women artists" and giving London "the appeal of Japanese music". Otoboke Beaver's statement promises they are flying in specially and will see the crowd "under the mirror ball".
Who is behind it
matsuri is presented by MUSIC WAY PROJECT, a joint effort between CEIPA, the Japanese culture and entertainment industry promotion association, and Toyota Group, as a way to take Japanese music to overseas audiences. The London edition is produced by CHORUS and Live Nation, with support planned from the Embassy of Japan in the UK, JETRO London and the Japan Foundation's London cultural centre. A separate industry mixer called tsudoi, co-hosted with JETRO, is planned for the same day; details have not been released.
Tickets
Sales run at 10:00 UK time each day: an O2 presale on 4 November, a Live Nation presale on 5 November and general sale on Friday, 6 November, through the official Live Nation page. Prices had not been published when we checked.
