JISOO of BLACKPINK has written a song for an animated film. "Sun Showers" is an original track she co-wrote for The Angry Birds Movie 3, and it is due to feature in the film and in its upcoming trailer.
What we know
The song is called "Sun Showers", and JISOO has a co-writing credit on it. The film is a Paramount Pictures release, with a holiday date of 23 December 2026. Paramount's pitch for the film is a very angry bird facing his biggest challenge yet: fatherhood, while also saving the world.
There is no release date for the single yet, and no word on which platforms or label will carry it. We will update this story when that is confirmed.
The artwork is the fun part
The cover art for the single will carry "Shumon", a small dustball character JISOO drew back in middle school, before she debuted as a K-pop idol. It is a very personal detail for a song attached to a big studio franchise.
JISOO has said the experience of making a song for an animated film felt deeply meaningful to her. She has described aiming for something playful, bright and feel-good, a song that makes people want to smile and dance, and she hopes audiences enjoy it when they see the film over the holidays.
Where it sits in her solo run
For readers meeting her solo work for the first time: JISOO is one of the four members of BLACKPINK, the Seoul group that became one of the biggest girl groups in the world. Her recent solo single "Addicted" came out on 29 October 2026 through Warner Records, so "Sun Showers" lands only weeks after.
Film songs are a well-worn route for K-pop acts reaching a wider audience, and a family animation with a global holiday release is about as wide as it gets. A trailer placement means many listeners will hear the chorus before they know the title.
