Queens of the Stone Age release their ninth studio album, Perfecth, today, 30 October 2026, on Matador Records. It is the follow-up to 2023's In Times New Roman..., and it arrives as a compact nine-song record.
For anyone meeting the band for the first time: Queens of the Stone Age are the California rock group led by Josh Homme, a band that has spent three decades turning heavy desert-rock riffs into something strange, groovy and often funny. Villains, from 2017, gave them their first UK Number 1 album.
What is on it
The tracklist, in order:
- It's Only Love
- Insignificant Other
- Where The Goth Girls At?
- Mono
- From The Cliff
- Sunday
- Easy Street
- Phantom Limb
- Run Away From The Mob
The album is produced by Homme and bassist Michael Shuman, and the current lineup is Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore. Sessions were tracked in several places, from New Orleans to Los Angeles.
The singles
"Insignificant Other" came first, on 25 August 2026. Homme described it in the album announcement as "a song about distance," about how someone can be your entire world and then simply vanish.
"Easy Street" followed on 14 July 2026 and features country and alt-country singer-songwriter Nikki Lane. The song was written for the stage first: the band debuted it on the opening night of their Catacombs tour in 2025. The video was directed by Tony Wolski and Christopher Gruse.
About the title
Homme has said that nothing in the world is perfect, but everything seems "perfecth," and that the name is funny in a group but "ain't so funny when you're alone." He has also said that every song sounds like it is from a different world, which fits a record that moves from a Nikki Lane duet to a track called "Where The Goth Girls At?"
Formats
Perfecth is out on CD and standard black vinyl, with a clear vinyl edition through independent record shops. A limited deluxe gatefold LP, sold only through the band's and Matador's own webstores, adds handwritten lyrics, stationery and a bespoke art piece.
Live plans
Queens of the Stone Age have been on a North American stadium run with Foo Fighters this year, and have announced a fall headline run in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Singapore. Further 2027 headline shows will be announced on qotsa.com. We will add dates to the ADMC gig guide as they are confirmed.
