The Prince estate has announced an expanded edition of 3121, the 2006 album he made largely at his Los Angeles home, due worldwide on 11 December 2026. It comes from NPG Records with Sony's Legacy Recordings, marking the album's 20th anniversary year.
What is in the box
The set comes in two shapes: a 2CD and Blu-ray package, or a 3LP and Blu-ray package. Either way, the original album is joined by a bonus disc of ten tracks from the vault, plus a concert film.
The vault disc lists these songs:
- "Time of Ur Life"
- "The Streets of Panama"
- "Another Girl"
- "The Word" (acoustic)
- "Elixer"
- "Glass Cutter"
- "Love" (acoustic)
- "U're Such a Tease"
- "Te Amo Corazon" (acoustic)
- "Girls in the Band"
"Time of Ur Life" is already available to stream, so it is the easiest way in before the set lands.
The Las Vegas film
The Blu-ray is 3121 Live Las Vegas, a professionally filmed show from Prince's 3121 residency at the Rio Hotel and Casino. It runs to 21 songs and was recorded after midnight on 20 January 2007. Three period music videos are included too: "Te Amo Corazon", "Black Sweat" and "Fury".
The performance was professionally filmed at the time but has stayed unreleased until now.
Record Store Day
The audio from that Las Vegas performance gets its own release for Record Store Day's Black Friday event, which falls on 27 November 2026, as a triple LP and a double CD. That is two weeks before the box, so collectors who want the concert on its own can have it first.
Why it matters
3121 arrived on 21 March 2006 and went straight to number one on the US Billboard 200, a return to the top after years of quieter commercial footing. It is a loose, funky record that leans on Latin colour and tightly rehearsed band playing, and its title took its name from the address of the house where he lived and recorded at the time. An expanded edition built around vault material and a full concert is the kind of reissue Prince fans have waited for, with a full show and ten vault songs on offer.
Pricing had not been listed in the announcement we saw, and details can still change, so check the official Prince store and your local retailer before ordering.
