CHVRCHES announce All the King's Men for 22 January 2027, with a 27-date tour across North America and the UK

CHVRCHES are back with a new record. The Glasgow synth-pop trio of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook and Martin Doherty will release All the King's Men on 22 January 2027 through Futures Music Group. It is their first studio album in more than five years, following 2021's Screen Violence.

The album has 11 songs: "Roses", "Evil", "Adore You", "Overthinker", "Royal Blue", "Comedown Tomorrow", "Friend of a Friend", "Three Out of Five", "Conman", "Jamie's Prayer" and "Faith in Flying". "Roses" came out in September as the lead single, and "Conman" is a song the band tried out live earlier this year. Producer credits have not been listed in the announcement.

The band has framed the record as a charged indie rock album that looks hard at the darkness it sees in the UK and beyond. Doherty has spoken about spending time with his mother in Scotland and soaking up British filmmakers like Shane Meadows and Ken Loach, alongside Massive Attack, Siouxsie and the Banshees and PJ Harvey. You can pre-order the album here.

Before the tour: two benefit shows

Ahead of the album cycle, CHVRCHES play two intimate benefit shows with proceeds going to charity: Glasgow on 26 October (tonight) and London on 29 October. Both had already sold out at the time of writing.

What to watch

Five years is a long gap for a band that has been a steady presence in Scottish and UK indie. The announcement describes a record that goes darker and more pointed than its predecessor, and we will know more when it lands on 22 January. For now, "Roses" is the one song you can play today.
