Krishna Das brings his kirtan to six Indian cities from 17 October, and Mumbai has added a second show

Krishna Das, the American singer who took kirtan, the call and response chanting of Indian devotional tradition, to concert halls around the world, is back in India this autumn. His India Tour 2026 covers six cities in about three weeks, and the Mumbai evening show has already sold out.

Kirtan is group chanting built around simple, repeated phrases, usually led from a harmonium with tabla and other accompaniment. Krishna Das has spent decades leading it on stage, and his shows work as much as a communal sing-along as a concert.

The dates

The full schedule is listed on Krishna Das's official events page:

• Rishikesh, 17 and 18 October: a benefit kirtan for the Ganga Prem Hospice at Shri Bharat Mandir, Mayakund, from 2pm to 4:30pm on both days.
• New Delhi, 23 October: Brahmkamal Hall, Sector 25, Dwarka, 7pm to 9:30pm.
• Mumbai, 25 October: the Dome at SVP Stadium, Worli. The 7pm show is sold out, and a second show has been added at 2pm the same day.
• Pune, 30 October: Mayfield Yash Garden, Wagholi.
• Ahmedabad, 1 November: SAVANNA Party Lawn, Shela, 7pm to 9:30pm.
• Bengaluru, 4 November: Terraform Arena, Yelahanka, 7pm to 9:30pm.

Ticket prices are not listed on the events page, and each city has its own booking page linked from it. The Rishikesh shows are ticketed separately for buyers in India and abroad.

Why it is worth a look

Most touring acts in India right now are playing stadium-sized pop or electronic shows. This run goes the other way: halls, lawns and a charity afternoon at a temple by the Ganga, built around participation rather than spectacle. The Mumbai sell-out and the added matinee suggest the appetite for it is real.

If you are new to the form, it is the sound of a room singing back at the stage. Our stories page has more on the live calendar across India this season.
