Fat Joe is back at the Tiny Desk. The Bronx rapper's new performance for NPR Music's long-running concert series is set to premiere today, Thursday 5 November 2026, and the setlist has been kept under wraps.
It is his second turn on the series. The first, in June 2021, was a "Tiny Desk (Home)" session filmed at his UP NYC sneaker store in Manhattan during the pandemic, when artists could not come to the desk itself. He ran through "My Lifestyle", "What's Luv?", "Lean Back", "Sunshine (The Light)" and closed on "All the Way Up". This time the concert is billed as a return, and the timing is not an accident.
The album behind it
Fat Joe released Organized Rhyme on 27 August 2026 through EMPIRE. It is a 12-track record of about 36 minutes, built with his longtime collaborators Cool & Dre. The guest list leans on old New York friends: Jadakiss on "The Aroma", Pusha T on "Set of Keys" and Remy Ma on "Dead or Alive". "Victory Lap (HIM)" samples Puff Daddy & The Family's "Victory".
Fat Joe has said the album was made for listeners who value the hip-hop culture he came up in, rather than for chasing whatever is trending. That is a sensible pitch for a Tiny Desk, a stage where a live band and a clean room reward rappers with deep catalogues.
What to watch for
With nearly three decades of records to choose from, the open question is how the set balances the hits with the new songs. The 2021 version leaned heavily on the big singles. Whether he gives "The Aroma" or "Set of Keys" a live band treatment is the thing we will be watching for.
The concert will be available on NPR Music's YouTube channel and the Tiny Desk site. We will update this story once the full setlist is public.
