U2's 2027 Latin American run skips Chile for the first time, with Santiago absent from the six announced dates
The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour plays Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires, but not Santiago, where U2 have played on every previous Latin American tour.

Chilean fans noticed the gap within hours. When U2 announced the first leg of their 2027 world tour on 15 October 2026, the six dates covered Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Santiago was not among them, which breaks a run that goes back to the PopMart Tour in 1998.
We covered the announcement itself in our first report on the tour. Here is what the line-up means for the Southern Cone.
The six dates
Beck supports on every announced show of Carnaval De Luz presents: The Greatest Show On Earth World Tour:
- 23 and 26 February 2027: Estadio GNP Seguros, Mexico City
- 10 and 12 March 2027: Estádio MorumBIS, São Paulo
- 23 and 25 March 2027: Estadio River Plate, Buenos Aires
The band have said dates for Europe and North America will follow in the coming weeks. Nothing has been announced for any other Latin American country, and Chile is not on the itinerary published for 2027.
What we know about Chile
Chilean media have reported that talks to bring U2 to Santiago have been running since 2025 and did not result in a show. A possible link to restrictions on the Estadio Nacional, where authorities have been prioritising sporting events, has also been reported. That explanation is not officially confirmed: neither U2, their promoters nor Chilean authorities have said why Santiago is missing, and we are treating the reason as unknown.
What is on the record is the band's own list of dates. Chile has been on every U2 Latin American tour since 1998, so its absence is a real change in the routing, even if it turns out to be a scheduling matter rather than a closed door.
Tickets
Ticketing runs in stages at 10am local time. The U2.com Feedback presale opens on Monday 19 October and The Hype presale on Tuesday 20 October. General on-sale for São Paulo and Buenos Aires is Thursday 22 October, and Mexico City goes on general sale on Friday 23 October. Links for each stage are on the band's official tour page.
The record behind the tour
The tour supports Carnaval De Luz, U2's 16th studio album and their first in nine years, released in their 50th year as a band. Brian Eno co-wrote and played on several tracks, and the title single shares its name with the tour.
If a Santiago date is added later, we will update this story.
