Powderfinger have added eight shows to their 2027 Australian reunion, only days after announcing it. The run that was 18 dates is now 26, and it now closes on 1 November 2027, two days later than first planned.
For readers outside Australia: Powderfinger are the Brisbane rock band behind "These Days", "My Happiness" and "Like a Dog", a group whose records defined Australian radio and festival stages through the 1990s and 2000s. They have not toured in 17 years, which is why the first announcement on 12 October 2026 landed so hard at home.
What has been added
The band's official tour page now lists the following extra nights, all in the same venues as the original run:
- Brisbane Showgrounds: Monday 6 September and Wednesday 8 September 2027, taking Brisbane to six shows.
- Wellington Square, Perth: Monday 27 September 2027, making three nights.
- The Domain, Sydney: Monday 4 October and Wednesday 6 October 2027, taking Sydney to six shows.
- Melbourne Park Oval: Monday 25 October, Wednesday 27 October and Monday 1 November 2027, taking Melbourne to seven shows.
Cairns (17 and 18 September, Cazalys Stadium) and Adelaide (15 and 16 October, Ellis Park) stay at two nights each.
The full 2027 run
- Brisbane Showgrounds: 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 11 September
- Cazalys Stadium, Cairns: 17 and 18 September
- Wellington Square, Perth: 24, 25 and 27 September
- The Domain, Sydney: 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9 October
- Ellis Park, Adelaide: 15 and 16 October
- Melbourne Park Oval: 22, 23, 25, 27, 29 and 30 October, and 1 November
The shows are staged under a travelling big top with standing and seated options, and they are all ages. Anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult with their own ticket.
How to get tickets
Tickets are sold through Ticketmaster. The artist and Telstra presale opened on Wednesday 14 October 2026 and runs for 48 hours or until allocation runs out. A Live Nation presale follows on Friday 16 October, and general sale opens on Monday 19 October, with start times set by city. Fans can register for presale access at powderfinger.com.
When the tour was first announced, the band said they were "absolutely ecstatic to be coming together to play again" and that earlier suggestions of a tour had never lined up for all of them. The extra dates arrived before general sale, so how quickly they sell is still to be seen.
If you are outside Australia and wondering whether there will be dates abroad: none have been announced, and the official page lists only these six cities.
