A new festival is coming to Argentina's third city. Red Hot Chili Peppers will headline the first Music Gol Festival on 12 June 2027 in Rosario, in the festival's own announcement on Instagram on 13 October 2026.
The date is set at the Estadio Gigante de Arroyito, the home ground of Rosario Central, the football club from the city on the Paraná river. Rosario sits about 300 kilometres north-west of Buenos Aires and is a football-mad city, so a festival named after the goal and staged in a club stadium fits.
The lineup so far
Alongside the Californian band, the bill includes two British acts that rarely turn up on the same poster as a stadium rock headliner:
- The Human League, the Sheffield synth-pop group behind "Don't You Want Me".
- Happy Mondays, the Manchester band who defined the baggy sound of the late 1980s and early 1990s.
The organisers say more artists will be announced later. We have not seen a ticketing page or prices yet, so we will update this story when sales open. The bands have not yet confirmed the booking on their own channels, and this is the festival's announcement.
Why it matters
Red Hot Chili Peppers last played Argentina in November 2023, with two shows at River Plate stadium in Buenos Aires that were guitarist John Frusciante's first in the country with the band since 2002. This time they are heading to Rosario, which will be a first for the band there, as the festival tells it.
For readers elsewhere, it is also a reminder that Argentina's festival calendar is filling up. Lollapalooza Argentina takes over the Hipódromo de San Isidro in Buenos Aires from 12 to 14 March 2027, three months before Music Gol. More on Red Hot Chili Peppers on their ADMC artist page.
