Fontaines D.C. have released "Where Is Gone?", the third single from their fifth album Dopamine Chamber, and it features Rosalía. The song is out now on streaming services, three days before the album arrives on Friday 16 October 2026 on XL Recordings.
For anyone new to the band: Fontaines D.C. are a five-piece from Dublin who came up in the post-punk wave around their 2019 debut Dogrel and have grown stranger and bigger with each record. Rosalía is the Catalan singer behind Motomami and, most recently, Lux, a pop artist who has spent her career moving between flamenco, reggaeton and avant-garde pop. Our earlier piece on what we know about the album covers the wider record.
What the song is
"Where Is Gone?" is track eight of 11 and the first time the band have shared a studio album with a featured guest. It is a ballad rather than a rocker: a moody acoustic strum, swelling strings and clattering drums underneath, with singer Grian Chatten and Rosalía trading vocals. James Ford, who produced the whole album, is behind the desk again.
It is a clear change of pace from the first two singles. "Marianne" arrived on 18 August 2026 with the album announcement, and "Tongue" followed on 30 September 2026. This one slows everything down and lets the strings do the lifting.
The album around it
Dopamine Chamber was recorded in London, the English countryside and Palermo in Sicily. The band have said the songs deal with the pull of the feed: artificial intelligence, celebrity gossip, political violence, climate change and internet memes all arriving through the same screen. Chatten has described the title as the album itself, a chamber of constant small hits.
The band are also on the 2027 bill at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Rosalía's home city, as we noted when the festival announced its poster.
The official release is listed on Apple Music. Fontaines D.C. have an artist page here at /artist/fontaines-d-c.
