Brandy will headline Flytime's House of R&B in Lagos on 20 December

Brandy is heading to Lagos. The Grammy-winning R&B singer is set to headline Flytime's House of R&B on Sunday 20 December 2026 at the Eko Convention Centre, the show that opens the Nigerian city's busiest stretch of the year.

What is House of R&B?

Flytime is one of the biggest promoters in Lagos's Detty December, the annual season when the Nigerian diaspora and visitors from around the world fly in for back-to-back concerts, parties and festivals. House of R&B is its R&B-focused night, and last year it was headlined by the duo Total with DJ Kid Capri. This year the bill goes to one of the defining voices of 1990s and 2000s R&B.

The 20 December show is sponsored by Glenmorangie, and it starts a six-night run of Flytime events in the city.

Flytime's December calendar

• 20 December: Flytime's House of R&B with Brandy
• 21 December: Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged
• 22 to 24 December: Flytime Fest, powered by Coca-Cola
• 25 December: Flytime Circle

Lineups for the rest of the run have not been announced yet, and Flytime has said they will follow in the coming weeks. Ticket details for the Brandy show were not public at the time of writing; check Flytime's official site for sales.

Why it matters

For anyone meeting the story cold: Brandy Norwood broke through in the mid-1990s, won a Grammy for her 1998 duet "The Boy Is Mine" with Monica, and has stayed a reference point for modern R&B vocal arrangement ever since. Lagos audiences have long had a deep relationship with American R&B, and Nigeria's own Afrobeats and Afro R&B stars have drawn on it for years, so a headline slot here feels natural rather than novel.

It also fits a wider pattern. Detty December has turned into a place where US and UK acts book Lagos dates alongside the local stars, and promoters like Flytime are building bills that mix both. Brandy is also reported to have shows lined up in South Africa before the Lagos date, though we have not seen dates or cities for those confirmed.

We will update this story when ticketing and the rest of the Flytime lineups land.
