The F16s are back with All Dogs Go To Heaven, their first album in ten years
The Chennai band's second full-length lands on 21 October 2026 via first.wav. Here is what we know: the singles, the credits, the vinyl and the Ooty sessions.

Artwork: The F16s
Ten years is a long time between albums. The F16s put out their debut full-length, Triggerpunkte, in 2016. On 21 October 2026 the Chennai band release the follow-up, All Dogs Go To Heaven, licensed to the label first.wav.
This is a guide, not a review. We have not heard the full record yet, so here is what is confirmed, and where it comes from.
The basics
- Artist: The F16s, the Chennai quartet of Josh Fernandez, Harshan Radhakrishnan, Sashank Manohar and Abhinav Krishnaswamy
- Album: All Dogs Go To Heaven, their second full-length
- Release date: 21 October 2026
- Label: first.wav (the credits read "The F16s under exclusive license to first.wav")
- Tracks: 10, according to The Hindu
- Vinyl: a limited first pressing 12-inch LP in standard black, with a spine sleeve and a printed lyrics insert, is up for preorder on the band's website at Rs 2,950. Preorders ship in November.
The single: Mt. Whateverest
The first official taste is "Mt. Whateverest", released as a single on 22 September 2026. Its video, directed by Richard Anthony for production house Room 101, went up on the band's YouTube channel later that month.
The song had an unusual head start. Rolling Stone India reported on 10 September 2026 that it had turned up on the official soundtrack of Konami's football game eFootball 2027 before the band had released it themselves, after players pulled the audio from the game and shared it online.
The credits published with the single tell you a lot about how hands-on this record is. The song was written, produced and performed by the band. Harshan Radhakrishnan recorded and mixed it, Josh Fernandez wrote the lyrics, Prabhu Muralee handled drum tracking and Robin Schmidt of 24-96 Mastering mastered it. There is a child choir on backing vocals, credited to The Student Project. Studio Gherkinz did the art direction and design, and the album cover photograph is by Prayoon Sajeev.
Other songs we know about
The Hindu, which interviewed the band ahead of release, named two more tracks from the album: "LMAO" and "Little Mama's Boy". We will add the full tracklist once the band publishes it.
How it was made
Per The Hindu's interview, the four spent close to a month together in Ooty in 2023, writing and playing as a full band in one room rather than tracking parts separately, which is how they had often worked before. Harshan then mixed the whole album at his home studio in Chennai. The band told the paper this is the first F16s record they feel they made almost entirely by themselves, from recording and mixing to the artwork.
The artwork deserves a mention of its own. The cover is a photograph of the four band members, naked, outdoors in the hills. Josh Fernandez told The Hindu the idea came from what dogs stood for to the band: instinct, and no judgement.
Where it sits in the catalogue
The F16s have been at it for well over a decade. Before Triggerpunkte came two EPs, Kaleidoscope (2013) and Nobody's Gonna Wait (2014). After it, the band went further into synths and dance floors on the EPs WKND FRNDS (2019) and Is It Time To Eat The Rich Yet? (2021). Members have also spent time on solo projects in the gap.
So All Dogs Go To Heaven is the first time in a decade we get a full F16s album, made on their own terms. We will be back with our own take after release day.
