There is a particular kind of Indian indie success story that does not run through a label, a film banner or a viral reel. It runs through a guitar, a voice, and years of people quietly finding the songs on their own. Taba Chake is that story, and next week it lands in Europe.
The singer-songwriter from Arunachal Pradesh opens a five-date Europe and UK run on 7 October 2026. It is his second time touring the region, and the first time he plays Germany.
The dates
Here is the run as listed by promoter Zeppelin Entertainment and the tour's official ticket links. Every show is billed for 7 pm.
- 7 October: Amsterdam, Het Witte Huis
- 8 October: Birmingham, The Castle & Falcon
- 9 October: London, EGG London
- 10 October: Manchester, Off The Square
- 11 October: Cologne, Die Wohngemeinschaft
Tickets are linked from the Zeppelin Entertainment tour page and the tour's official link page. The Cologne listing, run by NRW Events, says the show is 16+ and asks for no photography or filming during the set.
Who he is
Taba Chake is from Papum Pare district in Arunachal Pradesh and is Nyishi, and that matters to how his music sounds. He writes in Hindi and English, and in Nyishi too, which means a lot of the people singing along at his shows are singing in a language that almost never reaches a mainstream Indian stage, let alone a European one.
The early catalogue was spare by design. His 2016 EP, Bond With Nature, was just guitar and voice. Then came Bombay Dreams, the 2019 debut album that carried songs like "Walk With Me" and introduced him to a far wider audience across the country's independent circuit. Singles like "Shaayad", "Blush" and "Halfway" kept that audience growing without anyone needing to manufacture a moment.
In 2024 he crossed into film, writing and performing the songs for Shoojit Sircar's I Want To Talk, including "Dil Ghabraye". On 10 September 2025 he released his second album, Khud Ko Miloon, which came six years after Bombay Dreams.
Why Europe, and why now
In a new interview with Rolling Stone India, Chake describes himself as someone who never really expected his music to travel this far. He told the magazine that routing a tour is part numbers and part gut: look at where the listeners are, then pick some cities you simply love and take a chance on them.
The crowds, he said, are a mix of South Asian diaspora and locals who arrive knowing nothing about Arunachal or Nyishi, which makes for a very different room than a club back home. He also recalled a moment from his previous Manchester show, when an older couple told him they had been following his music for years. Rolling Stone India also reported that a planned North American leg last year was pushed back because of visa delays, a reminder of how much admin sits behind every independent artist's passport stamp.
The setlist, per that interview, pulls from both albums plus material from I Want To Talk. He singled out "Aao Chalein" as the bright, outdoorsy one, and "Khud Ko Miloon" as his newer favourite: sadder, but the song that means the most to him right now.
The Cosign
We are putting Taba Chake under The Cosign because his route is the one more Indian independent artists should be able to take. No major label push, no reality show. He built a catalogue that sounds like where he is from, sang it in the languages he actually speaks, and let the audience find him.
That audience now stretches from Arunachal to Amsterdam. An India tour follows the European run, according to Rolling Stone India, and we will share those dates when they are officially announced. If you are in any of the five cities next week, go. Bring a friend who has never heard him.
