Robbie Williams has been named an Album Icon for National Album Day 2026, the UK's yearly celebration of the album format, and the occasion comes with a record to match. His third solo album, Sing When You're Winning, is being reissued on vinyl for the first time, as a limited-edition double LP.
National Album Day falls on 17 October 2026. Universal Music Recordings and Island Records are putting out the reissue that day, pressed on red and blue vinyl and cut at 45 RPM across two discs. It is the album's first coloured-vinyl release, and pre-orders open at participating record shops from today, 6 October.
Why this one matters
Sing When You're Winning arrived in August 2000 and became Williams's third UK No. 1 album in a row. It went on to sell more than 2.4 million copies in the UK alone and is certified 8x Platinum there. It is the record that carried "Rock DJ" and "Kids", the song he sang with Kylie Minogue, and it turned a former Take That member into a stadium act in his own right.
For readers outside Britain: Williams is one of the best-selling UK artists of the last three decades, and National Album Day is organised each autumn to get people back to listening to full records, in shops and at home. Each year a handful of artists are asked to champion the format.
The other Album Icons
Williams joins PinkPantheress, the composer Max Richter and Melanie C of the Spice Girls as this year's Icons. It is a wide spread: bedroom-pop, neoclassical and 90s pop in one group.
In his statement for the day, Williams said that ask any artist and albums still matter, and that he is happy to be part of this year's celebration. The organisers said they were delighted and honoured that he accepted the invitation to champion the format.
What to do next
