Noodles, the guitarist who has been in The Offspring since 1985, is stepping away from live performances for the time being. He posted the news on the band's social media pages on 21 October 2026, signing the statement simply "Noodles".
He wrote that he needs to step away "to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue". He gave no details of the condition, and we are not going to guess at any. He added that the rest of the band has his back and will keep performing without him, and that he hopes to be back on stage soon.
What it means for the next shows
His most recent show with the band was Mission Bayfest in San Diego on 18 October. The band's listed dates after that include:
- 24 October: the Rock 2 Freedom benefit at The Wiltern in Los Angeles
- 6 November: SEMA Fest in Las Vegas
- 21 November: Corona Capital in Mexico City
- 16 January 2027: iHeartRadio ALTer Ego 2027
The statement does not say which of these he will miss, and it does not name anyone to cover his parts. The band's own channels and website are the place to watch for updates to the schedule.
Who he is
The Offspring formed in Southern California and broke through in the mid-1990s with the Smash era. Noodles has played on every one of their studio albums, most recently 2024's SUPERCHARGED. For a band with such a stable core, a stretch without one of its longest-serving members is a real change, even if only a temporary one.
For now the message is short and plain: a health problem, a pause, and a hope to return. We wish him a smooth recovery, and we will update this story if the band shares more.
