Lollapalooza India 2027 Just Dropped Its Lineup, and It's a Big One

Okay so Lollapalooza India is back, and the 2027 poster is finally out. Two days, one racecourse, four stages, and a lineup that jumps from British soul to nu-metal to a global pop group to Rajasthani folk without blinking. Here's who's playing, who you need to know before you go, and the one twist at the top of the bill that's honestly a whole story on its own.

The headliners

Four names lead this thing, and they could not be more different from each other.

Olivia Dean is right up top, and if you don't know her yet, you will. She's the British soul-pop singer behind "Messy," the kind of warm, old-soul voice that feels like it's been around for decades even though she's only just blown up. There's a bit more to her being here too, but we'll get to that in a second because it's the best part.

Limp Bizkit are the nu-metal chaos merchants your older cousin grew up screaming along to. "Break Stuff," "Rollin'," red caps, the whole thing. They've had this wild second life as a live act over the last few years, and seeing them on an Indian festival poster is genuinely funny and genuinely huge at the same time.

KatsEye are the global girl group that came out of the HYBE and Geffen "Dream Academy" project, and here's the part that matters for us: one of the members, Lara Raj, is Tamil-American. So there's a real desi thread running right through the top of the bill, which is not something you get to say often about a group this big.

Fontaines D.C. round out the headliners. They're the Dublin post-punk band who've quietly become one of the most important rock acts on the planet, all moody guitars and Grian Chatten's half-spoken snarl. If you liked the darker, artier side of the last few years of rock, this is your set.

Right under the top

The tier just below is stacked in its own right.

You've got 5 Seconds of Summer, the Australian pop-rock band a whole generation grew up on. St. Vincent, which is Annie Clark, the art-rock genius with a shelf full of Grammys and a guitar tone nobody else has. Steve Angello, one third of Swedish House Mafia, bringing the big-room house energy. And Yousuke Yukimatsu, one of the most talked-about DJs coming out of Japan right now, the kind of booking that tells you the people curating this actually care about dance music.

The India of it

This is the part that makes it a Lolla India and not just a lineup flown in from abroad.

Aditya Gadhvi is here, and if you've heard "Khalasi" you already know why that's exciting. Anuv Jain too, the guy who soundtracked half the country's feelings with "Husn" and "Baarishein," just him and a guitar and a room full of people singing every word back. Indian Ocean, the fusion-rock institution that basically wrote the blueprint for Indian indie. BlackStratBlues, which is Warren Mendonsa doing the kind of guitar work that makes other guitarists put their instruments down.

And then the collab that jumps off the page: Stewart Copeland, the drummer from The Police, playing alongside Ricky Kej, the Grammy-winning Indian composer. That's a genuine East-meets-West moment on a festival stage, not a gimmick. There's also The Manganiyar Seduction, the Rajasthani folk spectacle with the wall of red-lit windows and dozens of musicians, which is one of those things you have to see live at least once.

Wait, Olivia Dean kind of spoiled her own booking

Here's the twist we promised. Before Lollapalooza officially announced anything, Olivia Dean told her own fans she was headlining. She put it in her Instagram story, set up an RSVP page for it, and even DM'd fans saying "I'm headlining Lollapalooza 2027!!" So by the time the poster went up, it wasn't really a reveal for her part of it, it was a confirmation of something she'd already let slip herself.

It's a small thing, but it's the kind of small thing that tells you an artist is genuinely excited to be here, and that's a nice note for a festival to start on.

The undercard is deep

Past the big names, the bill runs deep across both days, and this is where you find the acts you'll be bragging about seeing first. There's 2manydjs, the Belgian brothers who basically invented the mash-up club set, plus Zulan, Rachel Chinouriri and a long roll of homegrown and international talent. Names on the poster include Kayan, Rhea Raj, Ecca Vandal, Pinkshift, Alain Johannes, Scribe, Maneesh on the Beat, Isyana Sarasvati, Ranj x Clifr, Swadesi, Yashraj, Varijashree Venugopal, Donn Bhat, Shanka Tribe, Rafiki, Curtain Blue, Run It's The Kid, Janisht Joshi, The Lightyears Explode, Meewakching, Calcutta Cowboy, Anoushka Maskey, Dohnraj & The Peculiars, Rasa, Noni-Mouse, Karshni, Raj and Shriya Rao. There's a whole festival's worth of discovery in that list alone, so get there early on both days.
