Katseye have a date for Sophia Laforteza's return. The group's labels, HYBE and Geffen Records, announced on Thursday 8 October 2026 that she will resume group activities in the first week of January 2027.
For readers new to them: Katseye are a global girl group formed through the HYBE x Geffen survival show Dream Academy, and they have become one of the most closely watched acts to come out of the K-pop training system, with members from the US, Switzerland, the Philippines and Korea.
What the announcement says
Laforteza will not take part in the North American dates of the Wildworld Tour or in promotional activities for the rest of 2026. The North American run opens on 13 October at the Kaseya Center in Miami. She had already stepped away from the group in August, and she missed the European and UK shows from 1 to 17 September.
In a statement, the labels said Laforteza has been prioritising her health and well-being with their full support and resources. Laforteza also posted to fans on Instagram on 8 October, writing that she has been putting in the work by receiving the care she needs and learning tools to better support herself.
Manon Bannerman is still away
The announcement did not include a return date for Manon Bannerman, who has been on a break from the group since February. She is also not part of the North American dates, and the labels have given no update on her future with the group. Until there is one, we will not guess.
What it means for the tour
Fans heading to the North American shows should expect the group to perform without Laforteza and Bannerman, as was the case in Europe. The labels' tour pages carry the full list of cities and any changes.
For the group, January is a clean marker: a full lineup (bar the one open question) around the start of 2027. We will update this story when the labels share anything on Bannerman or on new Katseye music.
