If you were watching a progress bar crawl on Sunday morning, you already know how this ended. General tickets for Glastonbury 2027 went on sale at 9am UK time on 4 October, and ticket seller See Tickets confirmed at 9.42am that they had all been sold.
Glastonbury is the UK's biggest greenfield festival and, for a lot of music fans in India, the one they know through the BBC broadcasts and the Pyramid Stage clips that go round every June.
The details that matter
Per the festival's own ticket page:
- The festival runs from Wednesday 23 June to Sunday 27 June 2027 at Worthy Farm in Somerset.
- A ticket costs £408 per person, including a £5 booking fee, plus £11.25 postage per order.
- Buyers paid a £100 deposit now, with the balance due in early April 2027.
- Up to six tickets could be booked per transaction, and only for people with a valid registration.
Coach and ticket packages had already sold out on the evening of Thursday 1 October.
What the queue looked like
Registered fans were placed in a randomised queue before the 9am start, and the festival's ticket page warned that refreshing or using multiple devices or tabs could lose you your place. Fans still complained on social media about slow-moving progress bars, with one summing up the wait as "2 bars of hell".
What happens next
If you missed out, the festival says there will be a resale of cancelled and returned tickets in spring 2027. No date has been announced, so watch the official Glastonbury channels. The organisers also warn that tickets bought from unofficial resellers will be cancelled.
As for who is playing, the festival has not announced any 2027 headliners yet, though organiser Emily Eavis has said all three Pyramid Stage headliners are already booked. Names doing the rounds are speculation, so we will not repeat them here. When the lineup lands, we will cover it.
