Echoes of Earth, the Bengaluru festival that bills itself as India's greenest circular music festival, is celebrating ten years on 5 and 6 December 2026. This edition moves to the foothills of Nandi, outside the city, and the headliners include a first India appearance for the Washington DC downtempo duo Thievery Corporation.
Who is playing
Thievery Corporation have spent three decades blending dub, bossa nova, trip-hop and Middle Eastern and Indian textures, and this is their India debut. They are joined by the Yussef Dayes Experience, the London drummer's live project that sits between jazz, hip-hop and soul, and by Parra for Cuva.
The bill also takes in Thai artist NOTEP, UK space-rock act HENGE, Cameroon-origin Belgian artist Lubiana, and Hamburg's Meute, the techno marching band, who are also making their India debut. Dutch producer Joris Voorn brings the club end of the lineup, and local favourites When Chai Met Toast, from Kerala, keep the home scene in the mix. The full list is on the official festival site.
The practical bits
- Dates: Saturday 5 December and Sunday 6 December 2026, gates from 12:59 pm on the first day
- Venue: the foothills of Nandi, Bengaluru
- Tickets: from Rs 6,999 on District
- Organiser: Swordfish Integrated Marketing
The festival is built around recycled, upcycled and repurposed materials for its stages and installations, and runs zero-plastic operations. Alongside the music there are art installations, workshops and spaces for families and children.
Why it matters
Bengaluru is India's busiest independent-music city, and Echoes of Earth has been one of the few festivals there that leans toward world music, jazz and electronica instead of mainstream EDM. A tenth edition with international debuts and a new site is a sign it is still growing. If you are weighing it against the other December festivals on the Indian calendar, our gig guide lists dates across the country.
