Bicep have announced their third studio album. SLUG is out on Ninja Tune on 29 January 2027, and three new singles, "Gas", "Ultra" and "Equarium", arrived with the news on 20 October 2026.
The duo, Matt McBriar and Andy Ferguson, grew up in Belfast and became one of the big names in British and Irish dance music with their 2017 debut and 2021's Isles. This is their first full studio album since then, following the collaborative soundtrack TAKKUUK last year.
What is on SLUG
The record runs to 18 tracks and leans heavily on collaborators. "Gas" features Lauren Duffus and SOARR, "Ultra" brings in Eartheater and Saskia, and "Equarium" features Kehina. Elsewhere the tracklist lists George Riley and KUČKA on "Curb", Sassy 009 on "Janus", Rowena Fysx on "Lamb", and two tracks credited to Bicep and Clark, "Edmeno" and "Viper".
The album has been rolled out in three sets of three tracks, each paired with a film. "Air", "Lemonder" and "Viper" came first in September, and today's three singles complete the second set. The visuals come as a three-part short film directed by Alex Takács.
The title comes from the contrast between land slugs and sea slugs, which the pair have described as a metaphor for only ever perceiving a fraction of a larger world.
Where you can see them
The live dates on Bicep's own site start immediately. Sydney's Hordern Pavilion (31 October) and Melbourne's Underpass (1 November) are sold out, with tickets still on sale for a second Melbourne night on 2 November. London's Royal Albert Hall follows on 26 November 2026, also sold out.
Next year they play New York's Knockdown Center on 20 March 2027, the Estéreo Picnic festival in Bogotá the next day, Snowbombing in Mayrhofen on 7 April, Primavera Sound in Barcelona on 4 June, and a London show on 31 July with the venue still to be confirmed.
The album is available to pre-order on CD and vinyl, including a safety-yellow edition and picture discs. The tracklist and date are as announced; as always with a release this far out, check the label's pages nearer the time for any changes.
