Aerosmith put "& Friends" on the Hollywood Bowl marquee for 29 October and 1 November
Steven Tyler changed the Bowl's sign himself, and the band's first shows since 2023 look to be on. What they are, and who the friends are, is still unannounced.

Aerosmith have teased their first shows in more than three years, and they have done it with a ladder and a marquee. In a video posted to the band's channels on 5 October, Steven Tyler climbs up at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles with longtime Aerosmith photographer Ross Halfin and spells out "Aerosmith & Friends", followed by two dates: 29 October and 1 November 2026.
"It's Aerosmith and friends, Ross," Tyler says as the last letters go up. Asked by Halfin whether he has missed performing, he answers: "Of all the things I ever missed, I missed my mind the most."
What is and is not confirmed
The dates and the venue are what the band has put on the sign, and that is all so far. The caption promised that "all will be revealed tomorrow", with details due at 10am ET on 6 October. When that time came, the band only shared an outtakes clip from the same marquee shoot and said more information is on the way.
So, as of this evening, we do not know:
- who "the friends" are, or whether this means the full band, a looser all-star night, or something else
- whether the shows are a benefit or a one-off celebration
- when tickets go on sale, or what they cost
- who, if anyone, opens
We will update this story when the band announces the details.
Why it matters
The last time Aerosmith played a full show was 9 September 2023 at UBS Arena in New York, on the Peace Out farewell tour. Tyler fractured his larynx that night, the rest of the tour was postponed and then cancelled, and in August 2024 the band announced that his voice had not recovered enough for them to keep touring. The band's retirement from the road has stood since.
The "& Friends" wording suggests the band want these nights to be something other than a conventional comeback tour, but that is our reading, not something they have said. Tyler has described the "and friends" part as the important one.
Two Los Angeles shows three days apart, with Halloween weekend in between, make for a very specific plan. Whatever the format, the Bowl holds roughly 17,000 people, so demand will be high once tickets are announced.
Catch up on the band at Aerosmith's ADMC page while we wait for the full announcement.
